“Look unto me, and be ye saved”. Is. 45:22
For any man to be saved he must look away from within himself, for in himself is no good and all his righteousness before God is a filthy rag. No man can truly save himself from sin and the damnation of hell that awaits sinful men.
To who then must the sinner look? The sinner must look at him who they pierced (John 19:37). The sinner must look at Christ who came to the earth to offer himself on behalf of sinners. Christ became sin, though he knew no sin, that every sinner that will look upon him and believe in Him might become right with God. Christ suffered for sinners, he was wounded, bruised, reproached, rejected, despised, humiliated, crucified and pierced with blood gushing out for the cleansing of the sinners’ sin.
Crucified on the tree, and in agony, Christ calls for the sinners to come and be saved, and be justified by faith through the blood that flows from his wounded side.
Are you in bondage of sin, are you weak and heavy laden with the weight of sinfulness? Are you constantly in agony and depression over the burden of sin? Are you troubled in your heart, empty and fearful that you may sink into Hell if you die now? My dear friend, this feelings and thoughts of yours are true, every sinner God must punish and cast into Hell (Ps. 9:17), but why should you die (Ez. 18:31), when Christ has died for you? Why should you suffer in eternity when someone has suffered on your behalf? Why not look un-to Christ and be saved?
Since you know in yourself is no hope, may I plead with you today, to look unto him that was pierced and wounded for your sins and be saved.
To be saved you must do the following things:
You must admit that you are sinner and that you deserved to be punished by God.
You must repent, renouncing and denouncing sin (Ez. 18:30).
You must rest your faith on the righteousness of Jesus Christ, and look to him to cleanse you from all your sin through his blood (1 John 1:7).
You must believe that he can and will truly save you. God has promised, that if any man looked unto Him (Christ), such will not perish but be saved and have eternal life (John 3:16).
Having done all these, the sinner must call on God to be saved, God has promised that any sinner that calls upon his name believing in his son Jesus Christ shall be saved from sins and its condemnation.
Look unto him now, whom they pieced!
